Structural Integration

massage-2

Structural Integration is a series of sessions to get your body back to its original position. We live in a very un-anatomical world consisting of driving, technology, desks and computers. So we sit, stand, and stay in poor postural positions for very long periods. Our bodies will change our posture to adapt to our everyday routine, and this adaptation is why we need regular massage and chiropractic. If left untreated, our bodies will begin to suffer the effects of backaches, neck aches, headaches, etc.

Structural Integration is based on the work of Ida Rolf. The sessions take your body and mold it into the most anatomical position through a period of 10 sessions, spaced one week apart.

The benefits of this therapeutic practice differs for each individual, but as a result of the process, people often appear taller and slimmer as they adapt better posture. Feelings of discomfort or pain are often alleviated. In addition to decreased pain, people report an improved range of motion. Others experience benefits of greater flexibility, a feeling of lightness and fluidity, better balance, increased breathing capacity, increased energy, and greater self-confidence.

The 10 Sessions of Posture Re-alignment Called Structural Integration:

  • Respiration
  • Feet
  • Lateral line
  • Inner line
  • Psoas
  • Lumbar
  • TMJ (jaw area and neck)
  • Pelvis/hips
  • Shoulders/neck/arms
  • Connection or integration of all areas

Integration

This technique offers the ability to change a person’s structure and posture for the better. It allows your body to utilize your muscles more efficiently, produces more energy, and allows more practical movement patterns. Each session focuses on releasing restrictions in a specific area of the body. Doing so allows for a more comfortable feeling throughout your daily life.
